Newgrange is one of the most famous archaeological sites in Ireland, located in County Meath, north of Dublin. It is a mound of 85 meters in diameter within which the burial chamber is reached thanks to a long covered passage. It is part of a whole set of prehistoric sites.
The site consists of a large circular mound in the center of which is a mortuary which is accessed by a very long covered corridor. The outer wall of the mound is flanked by monumental stones on which spiral designs can be observed. The strangest stele is the L19, called “the stone of the guardian“.
